Scuba Diving Watch

Scuba Diving Watch
Wife buy me scuba diver watch. What dial for around the glass? this really work or it bogus?

I live in Idaho I never been scuba diving I dont know what thet twister dial for around the glass please help. I want be like oh honey it all I needed.

Are you talking about the rotating band around the face of the watch? If so this is called a bezel or rotating bezel.

Using the bezel, the minute hand, and the numbers on the bezel, you can track elapsed time.

1. The bezel should have a zero point. From there on the bezel you should have minute marks, or maybe just marks every five minutes. To be useful, the bezel should have these marks along it.

2. Rotate the zero point of the bezel until it lines up with the minunte hand. Now go do the dive, but don’t move the bezel.

3. Whenever you want to see how much time has elapsed, look to see where the minute hand lines up on the bezel. You can use it to get the total dive time by checking it at the end of your dive.

A good bezel should be tough to move as you don’t want it to rotate freely or by brushing it against something. I use mine on every single dive as a back-up to my dive computer. If the battery in the dive computer dies (and it has on a dive), I can use my watch to track my dive time acurately.
