Underwater Kinetics
diving lights?

im looking for a light to go diving within the 25-55 dollar range. should i get a wide or narrow beam? i was looking at the underwater kinetics sl6 xenon and it looks good, but is it too narrow for a night dive? i wont need it during the day the visibility is supposed to be 70-100 feet, but what do you think?

You get what you pay for. 55 bucks is pretty cheap for a decent Dive Light. I’d call that my secondary light.. The one I’d pull out if I had no other choice.
A good light will set you back about 120 bucks. A really good one will set you back over a grand for a HID. Go big or don’t do the night dive. What you’re proposing is a back up light, not a primary. and by the way…you need both. They do tend to teach that in the night diver speciality.
I carry 3 for my wreck dives or nights and yes…once it all came down to that “cheap”60 dollar pencil beam when both my primaries failed due to a short.
